Artificial snow machine hire
Bring falling snow to your Christmas event, festive display or production with an adjustable artificial snow machine. From a light drift to a lively flurry, the effect creates a winter moment without refrigerated real snow.
Illustrative winter scene — not a photograph of our equipment or a previous booking.
Falling snow machine specifications
- Projection
- Up to 8 metres
- Fluid tank
- 20 litres
- Runtime per fill
- Up to 90 minutes
- Operating area
- 1.5m × 1.5m
Runtime depends on snowfall intensity; projection depends on positioning and air movement. The operating area is not the machine's physical size or snow coverage. A standard plug socket is required; we confirm the electrical requirements for your venue before booking.
How the falling-snow effect works
The machine uses snow-effect fluid to produce lightweight foam flakes, then projects them into the air. Adjusting the output changes the density of the falling snow; positioning and air movement determine where the flakes travel.
- Adjustable snowfall intensity
- Up to 8m projection
- Compact 1.5m × 1.5m operating space
- An effect that can be timed around your programme
Where can you use artificial snow?
Christmas events and winter celebrations
Add a timed snowfall moment to a festive entrance, Christmas light switch-on, grotto approach or seasonal celebration.
Retail and branded experiences
Frame a seasonal photo spot or product reveal with moving snowfall rather than relying on static winter dressing alone.
Film, television and photography
Discuss the scene, camera position and desired snowfall intensity so the effect can be planned around your production.
Indoor and outdoor venues
Tell us about the surface, ceiling height, ventilation and exposure to weather. Suitability is checked against the proposed layout before booking.
Choose your snowfall
Gentle falling snow
A lighter output for a soft seasonal atmosphere, photo moment or scene where the snow should complement rather than dominate.
Fuller festive flurries
Increase the output for a more visible snowfall moment. Higher intensity uses fluid faster, so refills are planned into the programme.
Timed moments or longer programmes
Discuss short reveals, scheduled bursts or extended event use. Fluid quantity and operating arrangements are quoted for your schedule.
Plan your booking
Tell us about your event
Share your date, venue postcode, indoor or outdoor setting, operating hours and the area you want the snow to reach.
Plan the effect
We discuss machine position, the desired intensity, power access, surface suitability and any venue restrictions.
Agree your quote
Your written proposal sets out the hire period, fluid allowance, delivery and operating arrangements. Extras are agreed before booking.
Run the snowfall
The effect is set up around the agreed programme, with refill planning matched to the snowfall output and duration.
What affects the hire price?
Duration and intensity
Longer running periods and denser snowfall require more fluid and refill time.
Location and access
Delivery distance, access windows and machine positioning affect the practical setup.
Operating arrangements
The event schedule and any staffing requirements are agreed in your quote.
How much does snow machine hire cost?
Artificial snow machine hire is quoted separately from giant snow globe hire. The globe's advertised starting price does not apply to this service.
Send your date, postcode and planned hours for a quote that confirms equipment, fluid allowance, delivery, setup and staffing arrangements.
Falling snow hire questions
Is this real snow?
No. This is an artificial falling-snow effect made using snow fluid to form lightweight foam flakes. It is not refrigerated snow and is not intended to create a deep covering for sledging or snow play.
How far can the snow travel?
The machine can project the effect up to 8 metres. This is a maximum projection range, not a guaranteed coverage diameter: positioning, output and air movement influence the result.
How long does a tank last?
The tank holds 20 litres and can provide up to 90 minutes of snowfall per fill, depending on intensity. Higher output reduces runtime; longer programmes need planned refills.
How much space is needed?
Allow a 1.5m × 1.5m operating area for the equipment. This is not the machine's physical size or the snowfall coverage area. Safe access, cable routes and separation from guests are planned for the venue.
What power is needed?
The machine uses a standard plug-socket supply. Confirm the electrical load and any cable or circuit requirements with us before arranging the venue's power; these are assessed for the booking.
Can it be used indoors or outdoors?
Both settings can be considered, subject to a suitable layout. Indoors we check surfaces, ceiling height, ventilation and venue rules. Outdoors, wind and weather affect the drift and positioning of the snow.
Is the snow fluid suitable for our venue?
Tell us about your flooring, nearby displays and any restrictions. Fluid documentation and surface suitability must be checked before use; do not assume every surface will remain dry or that no cleaning is required.
Is this the same as a giant snow globe?
No. This service projects falling snow into an event space. Our giant snow globes are separate walk-in attractions with their own structure, snow medium and booking requirements. You can enquire about both for the same event.
Looking for a walk-in snow globe?
Falling snow machine hire is a separate effect. For a themed attraction guests can step inside, explore our giant snow globe service.
