Giant snow globe hire

Giant snow globe hire gives you a 3.5-metre walk-in globe that guests step inside for a short, photo-led experience. GlobeHire delivers, installs, dresses, operates and de-rigs it, so your team runs a marketing moment rather than an attraction.

Who is giant snow globe hire for?

It suits teams who need a physical reason for people to visit, stay longer and share the visit — without taking on the staffing, safety or logistics themselves.

Shopping centres and retail destinations

Centre and marketing managers who need a dwell-time driver that photographs well and gives families a reason to choose your destination over the retail park down the road.

Brands and agencies

Campaign teams who need a physical activation that produces shareable content and hands out a branded message with every visit.

Events, markets and festivals

Organisers who need a centrepiece that works after dark, holds a queue safely and can be sited on hardstanding without a build.

Venues and attractions

Leisure, garden centre, museum and hotel teams programming a school-holiday or seasonal draw without permanent capital spend.

Corporate events and office Christmas parties

Companies and their event planners who want an interactive centrepiece for a staff party, client event or end-of-year celebration — the globe runs crewed indoors or outdoors, and guests take their own photos, so there is nothing for your team to manage.

Private parties and celebrations

Milestone birthdays, weddings and private Christmas parties. The same fully crewed service applies: we deliver, install, run and remove the globe, and you only need to provide level access and a power supply.

What problems does it solve?

It fixes the gap between attracting footfall and holding it: something worth queueing for, run by someone else, with the compliance paperwork already done.

Footfall that arrives and leaves again

A photo-led attraction gives visitors a reason to stop, queue and stay on site. Dwell time is what turns passing footfall into spend.

Nothing worth photographing

Most seasonal dressing looks better in the plan than in a phone camera. The globe is designed as a lit, enclosed set, so every photo works.

No in-house capacity to run it

Our crew install, operate and de-rig. Your team don't marshal a queue or manage the kit unless you want them to.

Compliance friction

Site-specific risk assessments, method statements and £10 million public liability cover are supplied up front for your venue's contractor file.

Seasonal cliff edges

The same structure is redressed for Christmas, Easter, Halloween, summer and brand campaigns, so one supplier covers the whole calendar.

What are the benefits?

A small footprint, a predictable operating model, branding on every photo taken inside, and documentation your venue can sign off before you commit.

  • A queueable, photo-first attraction: 3.5m × 3.5m of equipment inside a 5.5m × 5.5m operational area.
  • Fully crewed operation across your trading hours — nothing for your team to run.
  • Exterior wrap, base skirt and interior backdrop dressed to your marketing message.
  • Predictable throughput: about one group every three minutes, roughly 20 groups an hour.
  • Site-specific RAMS and £10 million public liability cover supplied before you book.
  • UK-wide delivery, install and de-rig, outside trading hours where the venue requires it.
  • Six themed builds, so the same footprint carries a different campaign each season.

How does the service work?

You give us dates, a location and a footprint. We confirm availability, quote, supply the safety paperwork for your venue, then deliver, build, dress, crew and de-rig the globe on the agreed days.

Step by step

  1. 1Enquiry and availabilityTell us your dates, venue type, opening hours and the space available. We confirm globe and crew availability within 48 hours.
  2. 2Quote and paperworkYou receive a written quote, theming options and our risk assessment and method statement so your health and safety team can review early.
  3. 3Site checkA short video call or a full site survey confirms the footprint, power, load-in route and where the queue will stand.
  4. 4Confirmation and artworkDates are only held once the deposit invoice is paid in full — the deposit is payable upon presentation. If you're branding the globe, we agree artwork deadlines at this point rather than later.
  5. 5Delivery and installCrew arrive, build and dress the globe — usually around two to three hours, scheduled outside trading hours where needed.
  6. 6Crewed operationTimed group entries run throughout your opening hours. Our crew manage entry, safety briefing, resets and the flow of the queue.
  7. 7De-rig and clearanceWe strike the globe, clear the medium and leave the site as we found it, then follow up with any post-event reporting you need.

What options are available?

You choose the season and theme, the level of branding, the crewing model, the content capture and the run length. Additional props can also be hired at a cost.

Choose the season

Six themed builds — Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Summer, Golden Ball and Cash Grabber — share the same structure, footprint and paperwork.

Branding level

Standard themed dressing, a branded interior backdrop, or a fully printed exterior wrap and base skirt to your brand guidelines.

Crewing model

Standard crewed operation, extended hours with a second crew member, or an added host or costumed performer for greeting and queue flow.

Content capture

Photo-ready lighting and branded backdrops so guests can take and share their own mobile-phone photos — we don't supply event photographers because past experience shows those images are rarely used once guests have their own phone shot.

Queue and set dressing

Barriers, matting, branded stanchions, directional signage and additional themed props can be hired at extra cost.

Duration

Single days, weekends, school-holiday weeks or multi-week seasonal runs. Longer runs attract a lower daily rate.

What materials, products and kit are supplied?

Everything arrives with us: the 3.5-metre structure, the blower and guarded internal fan, the seasonal medium, ballast, lighting, cabling and the dressing. You supply the space and access to two standard 13A sockets.

The 3.5m globe structure

A 3.5-metre walk-in dome on a weighted base, with a clear front panel and a zipped entry. The structure itself is 3.5m × 3.5m × 3.5m; in operation it needs a 5.5m × 5.5m area with 4m of clear height, plus separate queueing space.

Continuous-flow blower and internal fan

A low-noise blower holds the structure inflated for the whole session, and a guarded internal fan lifts the medium only when guests throw it toward the fan themselves.

Snow medium and seasonal alternatives

Eco artificial snow for winter builds — made from vegetable starch derived from potato and turnip, dry and non-toxic, with material and fire certification available on request — plus petals for spring, leaves for autumn and lightweight confetti or printed vouchers for brand games. All swept, collected and re-bagged between sessions.

Anchoring and ballast

Indoors the base is weighted and cable routes are matted and taped. Outdoors we add ballast to the manufacturer's pattern and monitor wind against a written stand-down limit.

Lighting and power

Warm interior lighting plus exterior wash, running from two standard 13A sockets — 1.8 kVA / 8.0A in total. Where no suitable mains supply exists, we recommend the client arranges a safe generator solution; we do not currently provide generator hire.

Branding and dressing

Printed exterior wrap, base skirt and interior backdrop, plus themed props: tree, snowman, egg display, pumpkins or product plinths. Additional props can be hired at a cost.

Documentation pack

Setting-specific risk assessment, method statement, PAT and electrical certification and £10 million public liability certificate, issued as PDFs for your contractor file.

How much does giant snow globe hire cost?

Every booking is quoted individually rather than from a published rate, because duration, siting, hours, theming and location change the cost significantly. Longer runs are quoted at a lower daily rate.

Hire starts from £1,395 plus VAT. Every booking is then quoted individually, because the same globe costs very different amounts to run for one day inside a mall than for five weeks on an exposed outdoor site.

Your quote is fixed in writing before you commit and covers delivery, install, themed dressing, crewed operation across the agreed opening hours (up to six hours a day), de-rig, site-specific RAMS and £10 million public liability cover. Add-ons are itemised separately so you can see what each one costs you.

The cheapest way to book is to give us a longer run and flexible install timing. The most expensive is a single day, in a hard-to-access city-centre site, with bespoke artwork at short notice.

What affects the price?

Six things move a quote more than anything else: how long you need it, whether it's indoors or out, the hours you want it crewed, the theming, the location and the add-ons.

Length of hire

A one-day activation carries the same delivery, install and de-rig as a five-week run, so longer bookings are quoted at a lower daily rate.

Indoor or outdoor siting

Outdoor sites need ballast, weather monitoring and sometimes a generator. Indoor sites are usually simpler to run but often have out-of-hours load-in windows.

Opening hours and crew

Crew is costed against the hours you want the globe live. Extended evenings or multi-session days need a second crew member.

Theming and branding

Standard themed dressing is included. Bespoke printed wraps, custom interior backdrops and additional props are quoted on top.

Location and access

We cover the whole of Great Britain. Distance, congestion or clean-air charges and awkward load-in routes all affect logistics.

Add-ons

Hosts, performers, photo backdrops and share prompts, queue management and extra props are priced individually, so you only pay for the ones you use.

How long does it take?

Quotes come back within 48 hours, four to six weeks is a comfortable booking lead time, and installation takes around two to three hours on a prepared site; de-rig is planned separately.

Enquiry to quote
Within 48 hours. We confirm globe and crew availability for your dates and send a written quote with theming options.
Booking lead time
Four to six weeks is comfortable for a standard hire. Christmas dates are the exception — the best slots are usually taken by late summer.
Bespoke artwork
Allow three weeks from artwork sign-off for printed wraps and interior backdrops. This is the most common cause of a rushed build.
Install and de-rig
Install and dressing takes around two to three hours on a prepared site; de-rig and clearance is under two hours. Both can run outside your trading hours.

What are the most common mistakes?

Five recur often enough that we check for them at booking. Each one is cheap to avoid at the planning stage and expensive to discover on install day.

Common mistakes observed on giant snow globe hire bookings and how to avoid them
MistakeWhere we see itHow to avoid it
Booking the space before checking the headroomIndoor atriums with low service bulkheads and hanging Christmas decorConfirm 4 m clear height at the exact position, not the room average, before the space is signed off.
Placing the globe where the queue blocks a fire routeMall walkways and marquee entrancesDraw the queue on the plan, not just the unit. We mark the line as part of the site proof sheet.
Staffing the quiet hours and thinning the peakWeekend retail residenciesUse the capacity plan. Put the additional operator on the two hours that actually carry half the day's groups.

More of what we have observed, measured and changed is in inside the globe.

How does it compare with the alternatives?

Against bigger builds it wins on footprint, lead time and cost; against passive dressing or digital-only campaigns it wins on dwell time and content. Its limit is capacity — roughly 20 groups an hour.

Giant snow globe hireA queueable photo moment with branding on every shot, in a small footprint, fully crewed.Throughput is capped at roughly 20 groups an hour, so it manages demand rather than absorbing it.

Static seasonal dressingBroad visual impact across a whole site at low operating cost.Nothing to queue for and nothing to hand out — dwell time and content capture are much weaker.

Digital-only campaignReach and targeting at low logistical effort. No physical destination, no in-person dwell time and no user-generated content from the site itself.

What does it look like in practice?

These are the formats we're booked for most often. Each one is written up in full in the typical install formats below.

  • A regional shopping centre running the Christmas Globe from late November to Christmas Eve as its anchor attraction.
  • A city Christmas market using the illuminated globe as an after-dark centrepiece on hardstanding.
  • A retail destination finishing an Easter trail at the Easter Globe so families complete the route.
  • A leisure venue programming the Halloween Globe across half-term with a costumed host.
  • A product launch using the Cash Grabber Globe as a branded prize game with data capture at the exit.

What do we know that a brochure won't tell you?

Four things decide whether an activation feels calm and successful or stretched and apologetic. They come from running these, not from selling them.

Plan to three minutes, not to hope

One group every three minutes is the realistic ceiling once you account for entry, the experience, photos and a reset. Marketing that promises more than about 20 groups an hour creates a queue you can't clear.

Site the queue, not just the globe

The 3.5m equipment size is rarely the constraint. The 5.5m × 5.5m operational area, the rope-and-post perimeter and the queueing space are what determine whether a location works, and they are what venue teams most often forget.

Circulation stays under guest control

Nothing is blown at guests. They throw the medium toward the internal fan themselves, which keeps the experience controlled, calm and easy to brief.

Send the RAMS early

Venue health and safety sign-off is the single most common cause of delay. Getting our documents in front of that team at quote stage removes it.

Frequently asked questions

The questions that come up in almost every enquiry, answered up front.

How much space does a giant snow globe need?

The equipment is 3.5m wide × 3.5m deep × 3.5m high, and we work to a 5.5m × 5.5m operational area with 4m clear height — that margin carries the rope-and-post perimeter and crew access. Queueing space is planned separately against your expected footfall. We confirm the layout on a video call or site survey before you book.

What power supply is required?

Two standard 13A sockets — the attraction draws 1.8 kVA / 8.0A. Where no suitable mains supply is available, we recommend the client arranges a safe generator solution; generator hire is not something we currently provide.

How many people can go through in a day?

About one group every three minutes at the fastest, which is roughly 20 groups an hour, or around 95 to 140 groups across a typical six to eight hour trading day.

Can the globe be branded?

Yes. The exterior wrap, base skirt and interior backdrop are dressed to your marketing message or brand guidelines, so every photo taken inside carries your campaign back out.

Do you supply risk assessments and insurance?

Every booking includes a site-specific risk assessment and method statement plus £10 million public liability cover. Both can be downloaded before you commit.

Do you cover the whole UK?

We deliver, install and crew across the whole of Great Britain. Distance affects logistics costs but not availability.

Can it be used outdoors in bad weather?

Yes, with ballast and weather monitoring agreed in the method statement. In sustained high winds the crew will pause operation on safety grounds.

Do you hire for corporate events and private parties?

Yes. The globe works as a photo centrepiece for corporate Christmas parties, staff events and client entertaining, and for private celebrations such as milestone birthdays, weddings and garden parties. The service is identical to our venue work: delivered, installed, dressed and crewed by us.

Is the equipment inspected?

The globe, blower and electrical kit are inspected, tested and maintained in-house by our own crew between every hire, and PAT and electrical certification is included in the documentation pack supplied with your booking.
