Pitch the scare level deliberately
Most venues over-index on horror and lose the family audience that actually fills a half-term week. A haunted scene with pumpkins, orange and black confetti and lighting effects reads as fun in the morning and eerie in the evening without needing two sets or a minimum age.
Use the evenings
Dark by late afternoon is an advantage. Lit from inside, the globe becomes the brightest thing on site, which is exactly the frame people photograph and share. If your venue trades late in half term, schedule your busiest slots after dusk.
Throughput over a short week
With only seven or eight trading days, throughput matters more than at Christmas. Timed slots, a visible wait board and a host who briefs each group before it enters will roughly double what an open queue achieves.
